These ridiculously strong men & women competed at our fourth push pull competition (bench press and deadlift) last weekend and totally smashed it! Before weigh in they were asked to fill out a small form telling us their current PBS (personal bests) in each lift. We've compared their actual lifts to their PBs leading into the competition and as a group they totally SMASHED it! A combined total of 216.50kg of PBs! We're heading home now as wind speeds are definitely starting to drop in Whanganui. Cooks Gardens is closed and gates will be locked until further notice, due to concerns about the roof of the Whiskas Grandstand in these high wind gusts. An assessment will be carried out tomorrow morning, once the wind has dropped.

A tree has fallen on Rangitatau East Road, about two km from State Highway 3. A roading crew is attending but in the meantime there is no access between SH3 and Brunswick Road.
