Ah, but Amadeus is right across the road from Trafalgar Square, and actually on the river bank. And it's a decent size. Never done Vincent's, thanks for the warning.

Good points T.

However, being off the beaten track doesn't stop hordes of people going to Amadeus or overpriced Vincent's where the staff are off-hand and you're likely to find all the chairs on the tables during opening hours.

Not looking like an eatery is probably a biggie. When I first started going there I often drove right past before realising my mistake. Their signage isn't obvious. Being set back from the road in relation to Tamara probably doesn't help.

- They have a reputation as a 'flash' eshtablishment that only do top dinners.
- They're off the beaten track.
- The place doesn't look like an eatery.
- It's next door to Tamara, which is a lovely place, but it does have that word 'Backpackers' on it, so some may think they'll be in for a noisy cup of coffee. Alternatively, it could be seen as an adjunct of the backpackers (an inverse of my first little theory point)

Thanks for dropping in Tony,
You're my second non-spam contributor. :o)
If you're in the US you may also find something of interest on my other new blog, http://mistywindow.co.nz/. It started as a computer blog, but I've morphed it into a Kiwi blog. Some of it is duplicated in the Wanganui blog, but henceforth that will change.
It's my intention to try to post every day or two on both these blogs.

Thanks for starting up this blog. I'm ex-Wanganui, and will be checking in regularly. It's a great town, and I hope to retire there myself (we'll see what Little Miss Apartment-in-New-York has to say about that though).

Not such a bad thing really. Nothing wrong with having a new perspective on things. Loosing is good for you, it helps keep us grounded and honest. So lets waste no time in finger pointing, from this humble perspective we can only grow.

Well done the All Blacks!!
